How To Treat Acne
If you think you can leave acne behind for good once you reach
adulthood, you are utterly mistaken. Adults of most ages can
still be afflicted by acne. Worse, this kind of acne is harder
to treat than the more well-known teenage variety.
Dermatologists may have various approaches on treating adult
acne though many agree on two things: acne in adults is often
hormonal in nature and needs to be treated from within because
acne does not respond well to topical products.
The first step, though, is identifying if you developed acne due
to hormonal imbalance. If you get pimples just before your
monthly period and if they appear on your chin and jaw area,
there is a big chance that your skin suffers from hormonal acne.
If you have acne caused by hormones, do not put off seeing a
dermatologist. This kind of acne will not go away on its own.
You cannot just outgrow this one. So if you are suffering from
hormonal breakouts, getting the right information on how to
treat acne of this nature should be a priority. You may seek the
help of an experienced and learned dermatologist who will most
likely prescribe you with various pills and oral antibiotics
that can bring back the normal activity of your hormones and
restore the health your skin once had.
Hormonal acne strikes people in their 20s, 30s, and even 40s. If
you let it go untreated, you can suffer for as long as three
decades. But why suffer when six month's worth of visits to the
dermatologist can solve this problem? Do not dismiss that red
rash under your chin as just another breakout.
